1. Travel Scholarships

Travel Scholarships are offered to trainees (students or postdocs) to participate in the IMGC.

The International Mammalian Genome Society Scholarships support meeting costs for students and postdocs. The scholarships for in-person registrants will cover the cost of registration and half a twin room (shared room with two beds) for five nights. Some travel funds may also be available. The scholarships for virtual only registrants will cover the cost of registration.

To be eligible:

  1. You must be a current IMGS member (memberships are complimentary; visit Join for more information).

  2. You must have an abstract selected for a poster or talk.

To apply for the 37th IMGC in Washington, DC as part of the TAGC (March 6-10, 2024)

A) Send an email to Darla Miller at millerdr@med.unc.edu before November 9, 2023 containing:

1-Your name

2-Your contact information (Institution, address, email address)

3-Whether you are a Student or Post doc

4-Whether you will be attending in-person or virtually

5-Whether you identify as a URM (see link below)

6-Whether you identify as Male, Female, or Other.

7-Your supervisor/lab head’s name and email address

8-A copy of your abstract

B) Submit your abstract through https://genetics-gsa.org/tagc-2024/abstract-submission/ before November 9.

C) After you hear whether you have been awarded a scholarship, but before December 13, 2023—Register for the meeting at https://genetics-gsa.org/tagc-2024/

A maximum of one scholarship will be awarded per lab. Underrepresented Groups (URGS) are especially encouraged to apply.
